The Central Depository Services (India) Limited (CDSL) on August 26, 2026, issued a notification regarding Early Redemption of Sovereign Gold Bonds (SGBs) – October 2026 to March 2027.
The following has been stated: -
•CDSL has issued the schedule for investors seeking premature redemption of eligible SGBs after completion of five years from the date of issue, on the applicable interest payment date.
•Investors must submit the Repurchase/Redemption Request Form (RRF) to their Depository Participant (DP), which will process the request electronically through CDAS.
•DPs must submit the prescribed redemption details to CDSL, ensure correct bank details, and comply with the mandatory Maker–Checker mechanism for online redemption/rematerialisation transactions.
